Not too long ago I heard a man
Shouting from the back
In darkness he did stand
I couldn’t tell whether he was in jest
Or if he really thought he knew best
He said my God, my Jesus and my Lord
Was nothing more than dirty empty words
I didn’t exactly know what to say
Instead I sung him a song in my own way
Even now I don’t know who to blame
The stupid kid or the church we both hate
But there’s a name I love above all else
The Son of God who died and lives again
So before you throw your trash at me once more
Know that I would live and die for Him
I’d die for him!
So here I stand and ask You once again
Give me what I need so I can stand
Wont you give the eyes to see
Give me the faith to believe
Wont you give me the voice to sing
Give me the strength to receive Your mind
So stand back now and watch Me fight
Watch and realise I’ve only just begun
Because he that touches you
Touches My own eye
